HEY! I got a piano :) I am at work or I would post a picture of it but I cannot post one at the moment. So I want to document my journey to becoming a master pianist and it starts today. The arrival day of the piano. As mentioned above, I cannot play the piano until later tonight because I am at work, but I am really excited about it. My dream is to be able to play at "The Roof" at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building. For those of you who for some reason do not know what The Roof is, it is a fancy pants restaurant. The food is amazing (buffet style), and you are on the top floor of a sky-scraper in Salt Lake City with a front row seat to a perfect view of the SLC Temple. The best part of the whole experience is being serenaded by a piano player on a large glass grand piano the whole time!! Oh it is so beautiful. I get almost teary when I think about how badly I want to do that.
This goal is a very long ways off… I played the piano for a few years when I was younger and I think I was pretty good at it. I gave up the piano for the trumpet in Jr. High and played it through high school. I don’t regret playing the trumpet, but I do regret quitting the piano. I think it is such a beautiful instrument and I think music that comes from it can touch people in their hearts if it is played correctly. I want to be able to do that and I know I can. I know I am a long ways away from becoming a master pianist, but all it takes is a start and a commitment. Wish me luck! J
